Dear Families,
Are you interested in registering your child for FREE after school tutoring this year? TEAM Northwest offers free academic support to students in grades 2-6 (grades 2-8 in Sheldon) after school. Our program is anticipated to begin this year on Monday, September 26, 2016. Our intention is to offer tutoring until Thursday, April 20, 2017, pending sufficient funding. Once your child is registered and enrolled in our program, he or she will be enrolled for the whole tutoring year, unless you notify the tutor to let them know he/she will no longer be attending.
For those familiar with our program, we do have some changes this year. Our program will be offered on Mondays and Thursdays this year. Students will begin their tutoring sessions at 3:30, and will be transitioned to Crossroads programming (or picked up) at 4:15. This slightly longer session will ensure that students still receive 90 minutes of instructional support each regular school week. This change will allow our tutors to participate in professional development and other professional opportunities on Tuesdays. All of our tutors this year are licensed educators.
We do have very limited spaces in our program this year. Once our spaces are filled, students will be placed on a waiting list. Due to these limited spaces, we ask that students who enroll in our program commit to attending the tutoring sessions regularly. Additionally, we ask that families register early! Our registration deadline is Friday, September 9th.
